| Wafa Ghorbal est née et a grandi en Tunisie. Parallèlement à ses études, elle chante, reçoit une formation en musique classique orientale et développe un répertoire des grands noms de la musique arabe, d’Oum Kalsoum à Abdel Halim Hafez. À vingt ans, elle remporte deux années de suite le prix de la Meilleure voix au festival étudiant de musique en Tunisie. Quelques années plus tard, elle obtient en France un doctorat de langue et de civilisation françaises et depuis, se consacre pleinement à la musique. Son timbre chaleureux et enveloppant a résonné sur les scènes de l’Ecole normale supérieure de Paris, de la Maison de la radio, du Cabaret sauvage, de la Cité Internationale, du festival de la Médina, du festival « Rencontres Méditerranéennes » ou encore de l’Institut du Monde Arabe.Wafa Ghorbal was born and grew up in Tunisia. Alongside her studies, she sings, receives Oriental classical music training and develops a repertory of the outstanding names of Arab music (Oum Kalthoum, Abdel Halim Hafez, Abdel Waheb, Fairouz, Warda, Najet...). At the age of twenty, she wins two years in a row the prize of the Best voice in the Student Festival of Music in Tunisia. A few years later, she obtains a PhD in French Literature and Civilisation in France and, since then, fully devotes herself to music. Her warm and engulfing voice reverberated on the scenes of the Ecole Normale Supérieure of Paris, the Maison of the Radio, the Cabaret Sauvage, the International City, the Médina Festival (Tunis, Sfax, Gabès, Zarzis), the International Festival of Hammamet, the " Mediterranean Meetings " Festival and the Arab World Institute (IMA).Enta Omri (Oum Kalthoum) - Sahara, Tunisia - 2007 | |
