| Emerging on the music scene from a bankrupt steel mill, Angelo M. is casting a strong impression with his eclectic roots mix and guitar virtuosity: a Rootstime Review calls this former steelworker a “Brilliant Guitarist” with an “Excellent Voice”, and says his song, ‘Lost’ produces "Goose Bumps"; his Debut CD, Far From Home received airplay in the US, Europe & Japan; and two of his songs are featured in the TV Series, ROADTRIP NATION which airs Nationally on PBS. But until a few years ago, Angelo M. (short for Melasecca) could be found working toward his 30 year pension in a Pennsylvania Steel Mill. Though an accomplished finger-style and slide guitarist, who's also noted for playing Dobro, mandolin and harp, Angelo M. shelved the idea of being a full-time musician to raise his family with the security of a day-job. That was until the steel company dissolved in bankruptcy taking with it his pension benefits and chance to retire. So, he tossed his hard hat, picked up his guitar and began penning songs for his debut CD. Since then Angelo's music has played on 130+ stations in 40 US states, as well, parts of Europe & Japan, he's appeared on several radio programs including the Nationally syndicated radio show, River City Folk (airing on 200 Public Radio Stations & XM Satellite Radio) and The Folk Show on Philadelphia's noted 88.5 WXPN !Angelo's performed at numerous festivals in the US including the Johnstown Folk Festival where he received a standing ovation the Atlanta Blues & Music Festival and Kalamazoo Blues Festival where reviews called his performance “Powerful” and said he was “One of the Highlights”. Angelo also made his European Debut in Limerick, Ireland, won an Honorable Mention in both the prestigious “Mountain Stage” NEWSONG Contest and the Annual BILLBOARD World Song Contest for his song, Thirty Years and a PBS News Magzine did a feature on his transition from steel worker to performing songwriter. In 2008 along with continuing to perform at festivals & listening rooms thoughout the US Angelo M. will make his Canadian Debut at the Loyalist City Folk Festival in New Brunswick and release a new CD!
