ORIGINE/FRANCE/CUBA Né en 2001 de la rencontre de musiciens français et du chanteur cubain Ruben Rodriguez, Candela Mi Son puise son inspiration dans la salsa cubaine très cuivrée des années 90 à aujourd'hui. Depuis 2004 et l'arrivée de Pascal " CLAPS " Guyon , notre pianiste/compositeur, le groupe s'oriente dans un métissage des musiques cubaines et noires américaines actuelles. Originaire de La Havane, Ruben vit depuis 2000 à Nantes, où il enseigne la danse cubaine et chante au sein de Candela mi son. L'année 2007 marque un nouveau tournant dans le groupe avec l'arrivée de Geysa Maria au Chant, originaire de la havane, et Willy également de La Havane au Chant et à la basse. Depuis 2004, différents artistes cubains cotoient dans le groupe les musiciens originaires de la région des Pays-de-la-Loire et issus d'horizons aussi divers que le jazz, le R'n'B, l'électro, et les musiques latines. Ce cocktail détonnant, à base de musiques et de danses survitaminées, a mené le groupe sur de nombreuses scènes. Depuis la sortie de l'album « Tomame », Candela mi son s'affirme comme l'un des groupes les plus créatifs de la scène salsa française. Album "Tomame" enregistré en 2005 Un second album est en cours d'élaboration... The encounter of musicians with the Cuban singer Ruben Rodriguez, gave birth to Candela Mi Son in 2001. The band draws its inspiration from the brass instumented Cuban salsa, from the 90's until today. Since 2004 and with the arrival of Pascal " CLAPS " Guyon , our pianist/composor, the band heads towards a blend of Cuban and African-American today's musics. Native from Havana, Ruben has lived in Nantes since 2000, where he teaches Cuban danse and sings within Candela Mi Son. The year 2007 marks a new step for the band with the arrival of Geysa Maria, singer from Havana, and Willy, also from Havana, bass player and singer. Since 2004, several Cuban artists have rubbed elbows in the band with musicians native from the Pays-de-la-Loire Region in France, and who have very diverse backgrounds like Jazz, R'n'B, electronica, Latin music. This underdressed cocktail, based on energetic music and dance, led the band on numerous stages.
