Artistic Director, Mickael Riviere established Company Decalage at the beginning of 2004.

The main objective of the company is to produce high-quality, original and inter-cultural work that is accessible to a wide audience.Company Decalage is open to wide range of artistic possibilitiesacross difference genres in dance and music.
Following the success of Decalage’s showcase performance atDanceXchange’s artist platform, New Vibes on 23rd June 2005,the work was performed at British Dance Edition and The Place as part of Resolution! in 2006.

In 2007 the company received funding from Arts Council England, West Midlands to create a new work See, which was touredas a double bill with Decalage to six regional venues and Resolutions! Five out of the seven dates were sold outand the audience response was very positive.

The Company has a unique style blending various dance languages oftenrooted to its hiphop influences:Popping/Waving, Capoeira, Bboying and Contemporary dancewith a hint of Physical theatre.

Decalage: three dancers combine and exchange their talents and energies, resulting in an inter-fusion of hip hop, martial arts, body percussion, and physical theatre.
Dream worlds collide, imaginations meet,…and relationships emerge.

Decalage is as much about the relationships between the disparate skills of the dancers as it is about the interaction between their personalities. Finely crafted choreography never allows itself to over-shadow the compelling stories of the three characters, and the vocabularies with which they tell them. Humour reveals how the dancers reflect their true natures in the form of movement.
