About Me |

Based out of Ardmore, OK, the Kirk Riggs Band was formed in September of 2007. They started playing various venues including Tenbuck II Nightclub, The Tivoli Theatre, The Red Barn Saloon, Willie’s Saloon, Players, and several private parties. Kirk started playing solo at a variety of different venues. He would very soon meet up with Ryan Oldham, lead guitarist. James Marris, Bassist, and Ryan Roring, Drummer, would soon follow. They were all born and raised in and around Ardmore. Their love and passion for music makes them who they are today. All with similar backgrounds growing up in Southern Oklahoma, they enjoy doing typical country boy things which inspire the lyrics in their songs. Their musical influences include bands such as Cross Canadian Ragweed, Jason Boland and the Stragglers, and James McMurtry. Other influences include a range of different 90’s rock bands, as well as different southern rock bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd. With this wide variety of musical influence, they came to form the Kirk Riggs Band. Their style of music is a mix of Country, Rock, and Southern Rock; a mix they call Red Dirt with an attitude that stands out above the rest. It is a style of music they can call their own. |
