My sensei is Lisa Myrnes (Lisa Kristiina), she helped me develop my interest and passion for mixing. LEGEND. I don't believe in making mixes every month, I enjoy well thought out mini masterpieces of flowing tracks incorporating a spark of originality while retaining some fresh style that makes ya just wanna move. Something that you can listen to over and over again. I like finding those mind melting tracks that make you either think "What the fuck's this?!" or "Woah! That was well sick!" I love hearing tracks, playing them and seeing people thrive as much as I do. ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------- Self confessed music freak, Jack! Who? (aka Iain Kirk) has been engulfed in electronic music from the age of 8 with music being somewhat part of the family blood. His grandfather was a teacher of music and used to create his own compositions in a Sunderland school, his brother the prolific Lone Wolf known for his unique dubstep-esque releases and renound scratching exploits on his label NozL Recordings. Huge early influences to his interests were artists like Aphex Twin, The Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk, Boards Of Canada to more recently Switch, Stephan Bodzin, Eric Prydz, Radio Slave, Vitalic, DJ Hell and everything in between. His heart is now set around Techno music in all it's glorious forms Deep, Dark, Edgy, Pounding, Quirky, Euphoric, Progressive... Iain has played at many different nights in the North-East (full gig listing on his MySpace) and is Creator/Resident of Sunderland's By Royal Appointment, a Techno/Electro/Minimal club night that runs monthly which is heading towards its 2nd birthday. It showcases a wide variety of DJ styles, constantly keeping it fresh and interesting, providing a platform for local and national artists. Their roster includes Warbgasm (Hypercolour), HiJack (Jack Union), People Get Real (Wax:On), Bigger Than Jesus (Excentric), Suade (Adapted Vinyl), Lisa Kristiina (Lo Motion), IDC (Corsair Records), Scot Nicolson (Error_) that have all rocked B.R.A. as Iain drives forward the underground dance scene in the area. A typical set contains hypnotic beginnings, rhythmic middles and powerful endings while trying to create a musical experience for the listener that captivates their mind and feet in the same instance.
