We tried calling our music "timeless mountain pop" for awhile. Phil says it's "music for lovers." It's all about the words and the melodies and the harmonies, and the guitar, mandolin, banjo, bass, drums and occasional mallet instrument. We've been a band since 2003/04 depending on how you count it. But it all started when Steph and Sean started hangin' out a couple of years earlier. Our latest album, Nature Hatin' Blues is dedicated to hometowns and misfits everywhere, mountains and people who fight to save them, the soil we grew up in…. To a certain degree, the dedication sums up both the album and the band. The music is deeply rooted in the mountains of Appalachia, but is also subject to the ruminations of those who try to escape their steep mountain walls. Read a review of the cd at knoxville520.com . It's featured on NPR's website . Many thanks to Wendy Detrick Worsham for doing the artwork. |
