MySpace Layouts I'm an artist with a passion for painting wildlife. For more information about me and what I do, and to view further examples of my work, please visit my website: www.avelingartworks.com Growing up in Africa, I was largely influenced by the continent’s colours, light, people and wildlife. These attributes and subjects predominate in my subsequent work, which has been featured in exhibitions in Kenya and the UK. For a period of a few years soon after I was born, my parents (both zoologists) ran the mountain gorilla project on the border of Rwanda and what was then known as Zaire. I was extremely lucky at this young age, to be surrounded by such a wealth of interesting fauna and flora, and it was here that my interest in wildlife began. This theme remained present in my artwork throughout my childhood years and on into my adult life, and I hope to continue communicating wildlife in this way.
