Influenced by rappers such as Will Smith, Kanye West and Eminem, Blazin, real name, Adam B, is a UK Rap artist with sights set on breaking free of the urban tag affixed to British rap music."I want to be the first UK Rap artist to breakthrough into the mainstream, I'm not talking Just Jack or Jaime T or even Mike Skinner, I mean real rap!! Not coming from the same angle as 95% of emcees and being from somewhere other than London, as well as, dare I say it, being white skinned, even though I’m mixed race (half African- from the waist down!) I appeal to a different and wider audience! ”Despite being predicted low(ish) grades at school, Blazin came away with 10 GCSE’s and 3 A-levels. ( I aint fick!!) He then decided to take time to study a one year music production course in Brighton, (15 minutes down the road from his home in Haywards Heath!) to follow his passion for music, with his close friend and producer, Phocus. It was at the close of 2006 that things started to take off for the pair and Blazin quickly found himself performing in various venues around the Brighton area to a rapidly growing fan base.Through his Myspace page he started taking more bookings around the country performing alongside other big names in the scene like Skinnyman, L.Man, Tinie Tempah, D-Fam, Fundamental and Sway as well as hosting the Urban Sensation Unsigned nights in Crawley every month. Even more impressivley he made history this year by becoming the first rapper ever to perform at Her Majestys Theatre in London.Aside from becoming known for his larger than life, energy filled stage performances, he soon made a name for himself on the pirate radio circuit by ringing up radio stations unannounced and generally causing controversy and havoc, much to the amusement of many a radio DJ. By the middle of 2007 Blazin had established himself as the most popular rapper in the area. He was also able to reach an ever expanding world wide audience through the internet. The popularity of which was made clear when he made the myspace top ten unsigned artists and continually hit the myspace charts with every song he uploaded.Now focusing on the release of his first solo mixtape, Blazin is writing and recording new material to be released on the newly formed record label “British Urban Development (B.U.D)”
