BAZ- ODE TO THE J -" I would like to personally thank Matty J for all the good times experienced over the past four years or so djiing and working together. I can personally say I wouldnt be where I am today if we did'nt do what we did together...... IT WAS THE MOST FUN PERIOD OF MY LIFE TO DATE AND WOULDN"T TRADE IT FOR ANYTHING.............. .....THANKYOU FOR THE GOOD TIMES BROTHER". Baz is one of Sydney's finest house Dj's, gathering support and praise from some of the cities' most respected industry figures for his ability to mix seamlessly and play up to date music but always on the underground tip and at the forefront of the dance scene soundwise. HIS current sound is still HOUSE, but more on the european tip with large portions of tech house, minimal and techno and also a bit of DEEP House thrown in for good measure.... For almost a decade now he has been refining the craft of Djiing after first learning the skill at the ripe age of 15, messing around with his older brothers equiptment. Now at the age of 23, Baz could in some respects be considered a veteran or long time player in the scene, even though he has only been playing professionally for four years. In 2004 BAZ won the first FBI sponsored Bedroom Bangers DJ Competition held at Alberts Bar In North Sydney, and it was at this time he first considered actually taking the profession seriously, and realised he had the potential to make a career of it. Residencies soon eventuated and over the following years whilst playing as a duo with best mate Matty J, Baz reached many of his long term goals a lot earlier than expected. Some of the residencies he enjoyed were at Le Panic, MYLK Lounge, Bourbon (The Cross), Sounds On Sunday and the Exchange Hotel. Baz was also a resident at the acclaimed and Award winning weekly party "KINK" at the Arthouse and he still enjoys close relations with the brand today. Baz has also been a resident at COME DOWN(Monday Nights) @ YU Nightclub in Kings Cross for over two years. As of the 19th Jan 08, Baz's long term partnership with Matty J came to an indefinate end with Matt taking on other ventures. The two remain best mates. Baz, now as a solo act, is taking it upon himself to push the sound he loves to a tired city that is crying out for change and he remains evermore the in-demand Dj's Dj to many. Exciting now also is the news that Baz will be managed by his close friend Samuel Korotkov who is well known in Sydney as a successful promoter who works for Australia's most respected music company, SOUNDS GROUP(We Love Festival, Playground Weekender).
