Joe Turley’s ProfileVeteran Nashville stage and studio musician, Ivory Joe Turley, has been groovin that rockin soulful backbeat all his life. By the time he was fourteen, In Lexington, Kentucky, Joe was wearing a zoot suit, blowing the sax , romancing his harp and burning up the piano in juke box joints on the wrong side of the tracks. Its in his blood. His grandfather, Daddy Red, was a well-known big band leader. He mentored Joe on harmonica as a child and lovingly left Joe the very sax he plays today.

On from Kentucky, through the United States, and overseas, Joes been ticklin those ivories ever since. You may have seen him alive and jivin on Austin City Limits, Nashville Now or sittin in at the Blue Note in the Big Apple. Hes toured with Leon Russell & Edgar Winter, Willie & Waylon, Dolly Parton, Vassar Clements and a host of other fabulous artists covering many musical genres.

His latest album, Over The Horizon, maintains an undeniable groove and stream of positive energy throughout. Joes lifelong musical influences fuse together like elements in a raw gem. His soulful vocal presence and the obvious influence of black blues and jazz in his music gives irony to his nickname "Ivory" Joe.

Masterfully crafted and honest songs (seven are co-written with Grammy winner Jeff Silbar) speak to your heart and soul.
