| Surrounded by music and dance since she was a small child, 23 year old singer/songwriter and dancer, Katie Marino, knew she was predestined for fame. Born into a family who loved and embraced music and dance, she was dancing before she could walk. Katie started as a classical ballet dancer, walking in the steps of her mother. Katie then spent the greater part of her life perfecting her craft, and perusing her love of performing. Marino studied all over the United States with schools such as the American Ballet Theater, Houston Ballet, and Ballet West. This dancer wanted more, so she began mastering other forms of dance. Combined with her dance training Katie also studied piano and voice. She described her love of music, “Music is my creative and emotional outlet; whether it be singing, dancing, or listening every aspect of it is therapeutic.” Once she decided that singing was a great passion for her, Katie has pursued it ever since.Katie has looked up to artists such as Mariah Carey, Madonna, and Christina Aguilera. After coming together with multi-platinum producer XL, Katie Marino’s music transformed. She remembers her first meeting with XL, “I was so nervous that I asked if I could sing for him in the recording booth…he was so kind to take a chance on me.” A fusion of pop with Katie’s sultry voice makes her a force to be reckoned with. Katie has written and produced a multitude of songs.Katie is on the brink of blowing up. Already hitting the 1 spot on MSN music, placing music in video games (X BOX-Gotham Racing 2), landing movie soundtracks (I See You), and appearing musically in multiple television spots (My Scene Barbie/Bratz/America’s Next Top Model) Ms. Marino is gaining a lot of momentum. Katie is currently involved in a great project. She was thrilled to be asked to join President Bush’s AIDS Awareness Campaign. The AIDS campaign recently kicked off a tour in which Katie and five other artists across the United States promoted AIDS education through music.Be on the lookout for this fabulous singer, dancer, songwriter, humanitarian, and amazing performer.
