february 2007 in www.virtualradioshow.com: "No Love that Lasts Forever. I hope I’ve got this title right, the song came with no reference. Nice, compact, punchy number which reminds me of the Doors without their Hammond tinkling in the background. This band has a studio sound that sounds like they really work well live." bobtjeblues.com: De groep is geboren in 1996 uit de (zieke) geesten van mensen die hun frustraties wilden kanaliseren, en de wereld "verblijden" met (alweer) een nieuwe groep. De naam was vlug gekozen "The Cardinals" naar de lokatie van het repetitiekot in het cafe "De Prins Kardinaal" aan het Kartuizersplein te Lier (ik mag niet vergeten Frank aan te rekenen voor deze reclame). Hun muziek genre ligt ergens tussen Blues en Rock, in de loop der tijd hebben the Cardinals hun eigen sound gevonden. Zelfs de covers hebben een "Cardinals" tintje meegekregen (You gotta get loaded,.. spelen met een rumba ritme en "los lobos" guitaartje, bijv.). Centraal staat echter altijd de "ambiance". Er zijn weinig cafe's waar The Cardinals nog niet zijn geweest, een kleine greep: Kid's, Wilhelm Tell, Olymp, 't Hovenierke, Revue, Vuile Was, den Bengel..... Dus als u deze groep nog niet aan het werk heeft gezien (shame and you!!!!), ga als de bliksem naar de agenda, en kijk waneer ze in uw buurt komen!!! Of beter boek ze voor een optreden.
