| Wolf Navarro is a songwriter who currently lives in Humboldt County, CA. Born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania he grew up with a love for music from Adrian Belew to Zappa! After being hit by a car and unable to walk for over a year, Wolf got his first guitar at age 17. He played it relentlessly and found himself listening to a lot of classic rock like Neil Young, Bob Dylan, The Grateful Dead but he especially liked Miles Davis & The Mahavishnu Orchestra. Although he grew up listening to Kiss, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, The Doors, The Beatles, Yes, Rush, The Who and lots of punk rock as well, these many types of music blended perfectly in his mind!! So at the age of 18 he left home for college! He quickly lost interest and left school to pursue a music career after a few years on the road playing acoustically at various Grateful Dead and Phish shows in "The Lot" he helped found the national touring act "Grinch". A 1990’s jam band with an arsenal of well crafted, lyrically intense, hard hitting originals and many, many, many years on the road!! A dream come true, they rocked the US steadily but the grueling tour schedule and fairly regular line up changes finally caught up with him. He retired from the band in 1998 and moved to Humboldt County, California where he has been studying guitar under Ruben Diaz and played in a number of great acts like Eskidyoto, System 7, Bias, Pappa Bear & 7th Generation Rise. Currently he is working on a new band called The Wolf Navarro Project with DE friend and bassist Eric A Parchman from The Nazarites! They are in the studio right now recording a double CD which they hope will be available in the fall of 2008. Aside from the new band and the studio, Wolf plays solo acoustic shows and also jams with his old band Grinch, when their personal schedules allow... With almost 100 original tunes and years of touring and opening for many national acts like Widespread Panic, Rusted Root, Moe., The Disco Biscuts, The Bailey Brothers, The Aquarium Rescue Unit, The Gibb Droll Band, Everything, Juggling Suns,Yolk, Schleigho, Jefferson Airplane, Lynnard Skynnard, The Derek Trucks Band, Max Creek, The Ominous Seedpods, Godstreet Wine, Blue Miracle, Yep, Leftover Salmon, The Missing Man Formation, JGB and Hot Tuna just to name a few, you can bet that Wolf Navarro always delivers a fun, high energy musical experience no matter which band he plays with!
