Acoustic pop meets the blues. Matthew Sweet meets Stevie Ray Vaughn. Tony Huml meets Dan Kelly. Huml and Kelly have blended their respective musical tastes into the unique sounds of HK. HK formed unofficially in the winter of 2005 when Tony bumped into Dan at Stokes Pub in Janesville, WI. Tony knew Dan was a talented blues player but didn’t know how Dan would approach an acoustic pop song. Tony presented Dan with a demo track entitled Never By Yourself. The chemistry was evident with the first leads Dan laid down, and the two have been writing ever since. Huml and Kelly had the fortune of meeting and teaming up with JJ Johnson (drums) and Clint Yahnke (bass) of the veteran Janesville band, Population 4. Their experience and energy has brought HK’s music to a different level. The end result is now available on HK’s debut CD, "Never By Yourself". |
