MyHotComments .. - Get Your Own While the rap industry remains male dominated, there are still some women rappers making their presence felt. Besides, it's quality or quantity, right? Well if thats the case, the newest rapping sensation to the industry, Re Re, is undeniably one female who skills concedes that notion. Contending for the number one spot, after hearing her edgy odes and witnessing one of her pulsating performances, you probably wouldn't accept that she becomes anything else than number one. As the first lady of Indie label M-N-M.ENT(Money In Da Making)., Re Re is still grasping hold of this surreal experience. (Everything has been moving so fast because I've only been doing this for about a year), she states shockingly. It seemed like yesterday when I first made a demo in my cousin's basement (just to test her skills) and the next thing you know I was put on with M-N-M.ENT. Self-described as talkative and having an unwavering love for music, those two qualities alone instantly set Re Re up for success when she decided to make rapping her hustle. (I also like to get stuff off my chest, touch people through my emotions and rock a crowd in my own fashion), says Re Re about why there was no better choice for her than making music. Her intensifying lyrics get straight to the point and she says, (If what I say is too raw for your ears, then it's not for you). Almost every verse she writes is about something she personally has encountered, a close friend or a family member. There are a lot of things I've seen and done that comes out in my music, confesses the precocious rapper. At first, I didn't want people to know about some of the stuff I've done, but this is who I am this is me. Looking back on the first rap she ever wrote, Got It Like That, dedicated to her ex-boyfriend, while it was a jaw dropper for her family, it made her aware that this was her calling. Her first live performance further confirmed that revelation and impelled her to stay with it. I was sent her to do music and (I'm not fucking that up), she retorts. In fact, she continues to grind harder and says her inspiration comes from knowing that if she does keep going, she will get even further. (This is just the beginning for me), she says. I can make music, move people and hop on any track and make it sound even harder. Everybody can't do that and everybody is not doing that. (I'm not your typical female rapper). And indeed, that's what she prides herself on the most. Holding down her own image like female rap icons she admires most such as Lil Kim and Queen Latifah. They have always said what they wanted to say despite others reactions, and (I love to personify their nonchalant attitudes when it comes to rapping),says Re Re. Hail to the queens! Lookout, Re Re maybe wearing the crown next!Last Week I threw out Worrying, it was getting old and in the way. It kept me from being me; I couldn't do things God's way.I threw out a book on MY PAST (didn't have time to read it anyway). Replaced it with NEW GOALS, started reading it today.I threw out hate and bad memories, (remember how I treasured them so)? Got me a NEW PHILOSOPHY too, threw out the one from long ago. Brought in some new books too, called I CAN, I WILL, AND I MUST. Threw out I might, I think and I ought. WOW, you should've seen the dust.I ran across an OLD FRIEND, haven't seen him in a while. I believe his name is GOD, Yes I really like His style.He helped me to do some cleaning and added some things Himself. Like PRAYER, HOPE AND FAITH, Yes I placed them right on.I picked up this special thing and placed it at the front door. I FOUND IT- its called PEACE. No thing gets me down anymore.Yes, I've got my house looking nice. Looks good around the place. For things like Worry and Trouble there just isn't any space.Its good to do a little house cleaning, get rid of the things on the shelf. It sure makes things brighter; maybe you should TRY IT YOURSELF.
