1996-1998 After months of working with a local radio station, her great passion, maturing from a young age, compelled her to practice with a bedroom console: the first opportunities for testing herself came during private and student parties, and there Irene was able to compare herself with her peers. 1999 She started doing her first professional dj-sets: in september she was asked to play regularly at parties organised by the LIDO club in Lerici (La Spezia, Liguria), in particular the BLUE KAOS night, at the same time starting as a resident-dj at JAMMIN’ in Marina di Carrara (Tuscany). Even though she was the youngest of all the djs, the impact of her techno/trance selections got great reactions on the dancefloor, especially during the Sunday parties called DESIDERIA. 2000-2001 She played regularly at ALHAMBRA (Sarzana, La Spezia) and GASOLINE (Brugnato, La Spezia) but began to tire of the same old sounds and to feel the need to explore new styles. 2002-2003 Her musical experimentation led her to house music, and then followed a residency at BUDU Club in Marina di Carrara, where Irene could finally spin her favourite tracks with long and eclectic dj-sets, serving up unique and fascinating selections. At the beginning of the summer, she was asked by COLORTEK to perform at their beach parties in the seaside town of Marina di Massa in Tuscany. 2003-2004 With positive reactions and feeback, she started in the clubs of the Versilia region: in winter at THE BULLDOG, in Forte dei Marmi (Tuscany), and then in the summer at the well-known and famously old disco of LA BUSSOLA, for a series of nights called FASHION GARDEN. From November, she also played at LAND OF THE WOLF (Villafranca, Massa), where her musical choices impressed the staff from KALIKA CLUB (Aulla, Massa). So, on the night of Christmas Irene was the guest-dj of the KALIKA vip-room. Then Kalika immediately offered her further sets, these becoming a twice-a-month occurence. 2005 Irene become resident-dj of PRIVILEGE HOUSE: once a month, her sounds were accompanied by the Silvano Del Gado, percussions player of "Supalova" by Joe T. Vannelli. From January, working with FUN UNLIMITED (http://www.fun-unlimited.biz) management, Irene appeared as guest for several nights in the main clubs of Luxembourg: ATMOSPHERE, CASEMAT ("Sungay" parties), DEEP BAR (drag-queens and go-go boys nights). In Italy, she played for exclusive parties in Tuscany medieval castles and the good impressions given by the foreign experiences, pushed her to organise a gay party in Italy. In July, her music were asked for TUNING NIGHT SHOW (Pallerone, Massa) and PLANET MOVIE CAFE (Sarzana, Liguria) and at the end of september, hiding herself under the amused pseudonym “Byron”, she was the special-guest at one of the last "real" rave parties in Torino’s hinterland (Piemonte). At the reopening of KALIKA CLUB, Irene passed from privé-room to the main room, where she was many times interviewed by the italian Cult TV. 2006 The residency behind KALIKA decks continued, and thanks to Absolut staff, she also played as guest-dj at TAMBO CAFE (La Spezia, Liguria). She was the “official” dj for the summery foam-parties at MEXICO BEACH and she was asked to warm up Ricky Morrison’s set for WISTERIA night at LA CANNICCIA (Marina di Pietrasanta, Tuscany). In october she moved from La Spezia, and after a brief period in London to promote her own productions, she started living in Trieste, in North-East of Italy. There, she started work at KEG’S Club, with tuesday parties called E-W@STE NIGHTS, proposing all the different sounds of electronic music, like minimal, tech, electro house, breakbeat... 2007 She’s now playing in Trieste...working for clubs like KEG’S, TETRISPALACE, LA VOCE DELLA LUNA...On april, she also plays at LA FABBRIKA (Vicenza) for the gothic-party WAITING FOR BELTANE. In june, she plays at the ZONA CONTAMINATA event, in Trieste and during the summer she is one of the resident-djs of the LADIES NIGHT parties at COCO CAFE’ in Portoroz, Slovenja. In september she starts working with WINTERMUTE crew, the first community cyber-culture oriented in Italy: she plays for DIGITAL GENESIS and ARTIFICIAL KIDS parties, the first Wintermute official events. In Trieste she spins at TETRIS (for Asianova after-conceret), ROUND MIDNIGHT, EUROPA, GRAPPERIA...but you can find her also abroad, at ((STEREOCLUB)) (Klagenfurt, Austria) for the KRANKENHOUSE party. In december she signs for the slovenian label DIVIDE RECORDS and her track CAPTAIN SPAULDING is out now on the INTERNATIONALGROOVE COMPILATION. Stay tuned!!! |
