About Me |

| I am André Matos from Sintra, Portugal. I usually play in trio with Demian Cabaud (b) and Alex Frazao (d). Sometimes the group expands with the piano players Albert Sanz or Leo Genovese and/or with vocalist Sara Serpa. I play duo with Sara Serpa too. I play in her group which focus on her perfect compositions. I am also proud of playing in Mikado Lab, a group that focus on inventive drummer Marco Franco's repertoire. I have been playing with bassist Colin Keniff's band, playing his wonderful music. These are the units I mostly play with at the present time. There is a CD out with early compositions on Fresh Sound New Talent www.freshsoundrecords.com , "Small Worlds" with Nathan Blehar (ts), Leo Genovese (p), Demian Cabaud (b) and Ziv Ravitz (dr). Soon, another one will be out on label Tone of a Pitch www.toapmusic.com. It features Demian Cabaud, Alex Frazao, Sara Serpa and Albert Sanz.
I am currently at New England Conservatory, in Boston pursuing a Master's in music.
