| Danielle Braund is a powerful vocalist crafting emotional and involving compositions. She brings the after-hours vibe of John Mayer to her urban melodies and a big voice reminiscent of Annie Lennox. Danielle was recently invited to open for internationally acclaimed Boyz II Men. Playing to a packed house, her dynamic stage presence and infectious urban melodies had the crowd dancing the entire set. Her fan base continues to grow with her reputation for high-octane shows featuring thoughtfully emotive lyrics and vocal lines few female singers would attempt. Raised in Alberta, Canada amidst the honesty of roots music, Danielle studied classical voice at university where she was urged by her music professors into opera. At the same time, she found composing her own music to be the added creative outlet that she needed. With her operatic vocal dexterity and music degree in hand, she set off to Detroit where she further honed her jazz piano and improvisation skills. In New York City Danielle focused on recording. After completing a single with Producer/Songwriter Wendy Starland (Moby, VH1 Emerging Artist of the Year), for her full-length album Danielle worked with New York/Nashville producer Stephen Joseph and renowned musicians such as Dave Cook (Shayna Steele, Jennifer Hudson). When not in the studio recording she spent weekends performing as the featured artist at Asylum bar, or with local musicians at clubs such as Kenny's Castaways, Crash Mansion and bar 149. Focusing her considerable drive and passion to the task of touring, Danielle Braund is currently organizing performances in various cities across North America. Her debut album was released December 2007. Danielle Braund has partnered up with Rochelle Dionne for a tour across British Columbia and Alberta this summer. Stay tuned for updates. |
