| Vibro Cage Extremists Introductory Video Somewhere in the twilight of 1986 the VCE were spawned, against the backdrop of the death of New Romanticism and the distant echoes of Glam. Fuelled by discontent at world chart mediocrity, like stubborn magnets the VCE forced sounds together including splinters of Icehouse, the Sisters of Mercy and The Angels. An exothermic reaction the world was not ready for ensued and the VCE faded much like the hyper colour shirts of the age. 1997 saw a brief reunion tour and infamous ‘clothesline’ period but the VCE were still not their true selves. At the dawn of a new millennium the crucible of creativity and anonymity, like a husk, has finally fallen away and the VCE have arrived. Transmogrified by grease paint and masque, they reveal the best VCE of all; both hiding and revealing themselves, simultaneously showing all their beauty and ugliness, and holding the mirror up to us all.
