| Biography of UrocKBorn March 20th 1980 as a pieces, first day of spring. As the days went on from a child to a teen, life was very interesting for me. My family consisted of three brothers and one sister, then later finding out I had two half brothers and one half sister. My dad is from Trinidad and Tobago, and my mom is from Nova-Scotia, he had met her off the boat. Music was always played in the house growing up, from Harold Melvin to James brown, soul music was apart of us. Also can't forget soca to calypso, the parades I would watch with my father, Trinidad always had it's yearly events, that we would end up getting eventually on tape. I always noticed that it was very poetic the way artist would perform on stage, to eventually becoming my own poetry writer on a daily basis. Then the dancing came along, from b-boys to house dancers, you could never get enough of it. I started out with a group called Fast Step Troop doing shows from youth centers to the montreal International Jazz Festival. From there on, anything was possible and especially knowing that we were only street kids out the hood. My older brother had became an mc over the years from a young age growing up, so I decided to follow in his foot foot steps. My first mc name name was SMALLT, then I went on to use UROCK as Red and Cheeba told me to do. It was a great move in my career as today people recognize the b-boy Urock also as the mc Urock. Everybody has there up's and down's growing up, mine were, being stabbed at a young age, from a family that was pretty much separated over the time. Growing up out of all of this corruption occuring to me from therapy to what's going on in the world today, there is not a better way that I can express myself. My music has become my everyday passion and everyday living working with other artist that have the same goals as me. Getting positive vibes out and teaching the youth about knowing yourself and how it is important. Seeing is Believing, and the only things Ive seen so far are things I eventually asked the universe to show me. And with time things started popping out of the blue, who knows where life is going, well I decided to know where mine is going.
