| (most photos by Kyle Weir: www.myspace.com/weirkyle) Born & raised in Canada’s National Capital Region, APRIL HAYWARD came to Hamilton in 2002 to begin graduate studies in theoretical ecology at McMaster University where she currently juggles her music and her science with all the grace of a giraffe on roller skates. Heavily influenced by the Indigo Girls in her early days, this singer-songwriter combines acoustic roots with poetic lyrics and powerful, compelling vocals to produce a pop sound with a pure feel.April is currently being featured in the 2007 Rogers Spring Music Festival’s Songwriter’s Showcase which will air on Cable 14 and has recently been interviewed on “Lou’s Control” on Mohawk College radio, C101.5fm.Watch out for April’s debut album in the fall of 2007 and check back here and @ www.thecruellestmonth.com for updates on album progress and upcoming shows. |
