| Billy Stewart is a Folk Singer/ Songwriter from the former mining Village of Overtown in Lanarkshire, Scotland.Billy has been writing songs and performing for many a long year now and his songs are being recorded and performed by many well known names in Scottish Folk. These include The McCalmans, Robin Laing, Gabelunzie, Ronnie Browne, Stephen Quigg and Haggerdash who just happen to be the band that Billy is a member of.Billy has also been involved for many years in the Songwriting in Schools project which has seen him visiting many schools both primary and secondary to carry out songwriting workshops with the pupils. Billy was also one of the songwriters involved in the first New Makars Trust project in Fife which led to the creation of The New Makars Trust. He has since been the Director of SONGLINES a songwriting project in South Lanarkshire run by The New Makars Trust.Billy has five CDs to his credit and you will find a variety of tracks on this site | |
