About Me

I am a guitarist from New York. I have appeared at Lucille's at BB Kings in NYC, The Rainbow Room, The Cornelia Street Cafe Soul Of The Blues Festival, The Riverhead Blues Festival, Cedar Beach Blues Festival, Warwick Winery Blues Festival, and many more. I have also shared the stage with Hubert Sumlin, Tony Orlando, Bob Margolin, Little Toby Walker, Nicole Hart, Michael Packer, and many more. I was a finalist in the 2005 International Blues Challenge Acoustic Solo/Duo category in Memphis with my bandmate Howlin' Howie Haber. We were there representing the Downstate New York Blues Assn. I currently play with the band Breakaway. We are a 6 piece bluesy rock band who play all original music. I also play with Acoustic Breakaway which is a stripped down version of the band, me & Howlin Howie Haber on guitar, and whoever else feels like joining us. I also work as occasional fill-in guitarist for Killer Joe & The Lido Soul Review. In 2004 Breakaway competed in the Long Island Music Festival sponsored by Good Times Magazine and made it to the finals. In the late 70's I studied Jazz Guitar with Joe Carbone, Pete Rogine, and Ray Alexander at Five Towns College. In the early 80's I played with the Jazz Fusion/Progressive Rock band Hot Tips. We played all over Long Island and some of the most memorable gigs were at the legendary club 'My Fathers Place' in Roslyn NY. After that I played with the R&B/Soul band Snapp for a while before moving on to Breakaway. I love playing and writing all styles of music, Blues, Jazz, Rock, Funk, Folk, and some downright Spacey Stuff, and at times dabble in them on my home recorder. I'll be putting samples of my stuff on this site and also on --- www.myspace.com/joyouscouch --- so ya'll come back now! ************************************************************ ***I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
