Sitting on the curb over a Dunkin Donuts coffee, 2 friends spent an afternoon as usual: talking about writing. The discussion centered around a current project they were working on, a short script, entitled, Guggenheim. The story idea had been Mark’s, and the original version of it involved sending Phil down to Florida for a journalistic endeavor. Only he gets waylaid by 2 vixens who catapult him into a different kind of story, and in the process he discovers something important about real writing and about himself. But the more the friends talked about the script, the more tangible it became, the deeper meanings were revealed, and the full potential came to light when they translated it into its current state. Meet Christopher Young. A writer. Only, he has nothing to show for it except a degree in English and a desk job. But all that is about to change when his editor sends him to New York. No matter that Chris has never been to New York. It’s when he steps off the bus that the real story begins. And Chris is catapulted into a world not entirely his own. The big city becomes the least of his problems, as Chris is scooped up and exposed to the shadier side of life. Scottie and Guggenheim, self-stylized femme fetales, have an agenda of their own, and they just might be able to seduce Chris to achieve their mischievous ends. Filled with humor, romance, intrigue, and peril…Guggenheim is a tale about self-exploration, a quest to discover the divine self, a personal challenge about overcoming obstacles, and how one man finds himself in the heart of Manhattan, and must struggle to understand his fears and understand himself. Guggenheim is currently in post-production and editing is scheduled to be completed September 2006. News about screenings and festivals still to come.
