| (Italian Megadeth Tribute)
MechaniX draws its origins from the metal band BigGuns formed in 2002 by Ivan Gilli and Massimo Filippi along with guitarist Antonio Ravanelli and the very young but very talented singer David Micheli. The quartet finally added Alessandro Filippi at the drums and during its first year of activity the group played in various local events featuring mainly songs by Metallica, Iron Maiden and Megadeth. During November 2003 Antonio Ravanelli left the band and the guys decided to dedicate themselves exclusively playing Megadeth songs. After several auditions in january 2004 the band found a new guitar player more technical and more oriented to the new music style: Simone Costesso (ex-Elettroshock). As a result of this new line-up the group changed its name to MechaniX, in Megadeth’s honour. With the line-up reintegrated and strengthened the band started to restore and broaden its set-list and their live concerts continued. In July 2006 another historical component, Filippi Massimo, left the band and was replaced by Riccardo Taiss which was able to integrate quickly within the band. ------------------------------------------------------------ --------- Il gruppo dei Mechanix trae le sue origini dal gruppo metal BigGuns che, nel 2002, Ivan Gilli e Massimo Filippi decidono di formare, reclutando come chitarrista Antonio Ravanelli e il giovanissimo ma molto promettente cantante David Micheli; ai quattro si unì infine il batterista Alessandro Filippi. La band, finalmente al completo, già nel corso del suo primo anno di attività suonò in diverse manifestazioni a livello provinciale presentando principalmente brani degli Iron Maiden, dei Metallica e dei Megadeth. Con l'uscita dal gruppo, nel novembre del 2003, del chitarrista Antonio Ravanelli, la band decide di dedicarsi esclusivamente all'esecuzione di pezzi dei Megadeth. Dopo vari provini alla ricerca di un nuovo chitarrista più tecnico e orientato al nuovo genere, nel gennaio del 2004 entra negli allora Big Guns Simone Costesso, ex-Elettroshock. Dopo questa new entry il gruppo acquisisce il suo attuale nome: Mechanix, in onore dei grandi e mitici Megadeth dai quali trae la sua ispirazione. Con la line-up reintegrata e rinforzata la band si occupa del rinnovamento e dell'ampliamento del proprio repertorio e continua la propria attività live.
