| Bor'Tas, is a Metal band with the final line up coming together in August of 2006. Originating from four corners of the globe and from very different musical backgrounds, all members bring a different flavor to our music ranging from Death Metal to Funk and Jazz. Music:Member Since: 9/9/2006Band Website: your here Band Members: MyGen Profile Generator Dai- Vocals/Bass- Originally from the UK Dai has played in various bands from the Birmingham area for about 10 years. With a love for bands like Faith No More, Incubus, Machine Head and Snot he brings a Metal/Funk feel with his Bass playing and a raw punk style vocal to the progressive flavour of Bor'Tas's music. Ed- Guitar/vocals- Ed has played in various UK metal bands, five of those professionally. With a solid rhythm and quick solos, Ed encompasses the early English Death metal sound with a Jazzy feel to his playing. JJ-Guitar/vocals- JJ is originally from Seoul Korea, has had 20 years of musical background and is known as a shredder. He has a strong knowledge of music theory and piano. Gary- Drums Gary is Native American Indian and comes from Shelby,Ohio and Nashville,Tennessee, USA . He has been playing for 20 years and has worked professionally in bands and as a session drummer in the US and NZ. Bor'Tas use and abuse Influences: Ed's influence's are Opeth, Tool,Metallica and Al Di Meola Dai's influences are Incubus, Deftones,DJ Shadow This week Dai is listening to Mastodon, The Bronx (looking forward to their show @Kings Arms Friday), Deftones & Incubus latest albums JJ's influences are Joe Satriani, Marty Friedman,Pantera Gary's influences are Mike Martin for his love of the music, and the musicianship of all the guys in Back on Earth. Drummers that can use their imagination and play in odd time and hold a good solid groove. We would like to thank the crew from Paeroa for their support and their sacrifices of blood (Jay hows the eye) sweat and gas ! They always come to our gigs and get the pit started.
