| If I am to start with describing myself I would probably say I am a PHENOMENAL woman. I am a God fearing woman that was bred out of the orginal Lil Washington, NC, now married with three beautiful children. I have lived in the Baltimore/DC Metro Area most of my adult life after leaving NC, only to have returned back to my roots. As much as I love NC, I would have never moved back by choice. (But now, amazingly, I would not consider moving anywhere else.) I am married to "My Boo" (James) who is also from NC and is in the military, thus explaining the stay here in Carolina. I am young in age but seasoned in spirit. At this point in my life, I am on a journey that has me excited about the change. I am excited because my past has laid a foundation for my future and I no longer have to look back, because now I am moving FORWARD! I am just EXCITED about the journey that God has already planned for my husband & I! If you don't understand just ask me...my testimony is AWESOME, and God gets all the Gratification and most certainly ALL the Glory! Why must I tell my story? For the same reason that the Bible was written-so that others may live and be encouraged. I Did! Others have! And so will you! Some lives stand out more than others. Some are chosen to proclaim, I did it, I recovered-and so will you. We started out clean. We ended dirty. Everybody saw it, and he covered us. I've been healed, and you can be healed too. If I made it, so can you for such a time is this. Be Encouraged! I saw a poem once to sum up my section - This poem by Maya Angelou entitled Christians - When I say... "I am a Christian I'm not shouting I'm clean livin'. I'm whispering I was lost, Now I'm found and forgiven. When I say... I am a Christian I don't speak of this with pride. I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide. When I say... I am a Christian I'm not trying to be strong. I'm professing that I'm weak And need His strength to carry on. When I say... I am a Christian I'm not bragging of success. I'm admitting I have failed And need God to clean my mess. When I say... I am a Christian I'm not claiming to be perfect, My flaws are far too visible But, God believes I am worth it. When I say... I am a Christian I still feel the sting of pain. I have my share of heartaches So I call upon His name. When I say... I am a Christian I'm not holier than thou, I'm just a simple sinner Who received God's good grace, somehow!"
