WTMO Orlando Expands Coverage WTMO Orlando expanded its coverage which now reaches a large portion of central Florida including Orange, Osceola, Volusia, and Brevard counties. Quickly becoming the super station of Central Florida, the station now consists of WTMO channel 31 in Orlando and repeaters WKME channel 15 in Kissimmee, WDYB channel 28 in Daytona Beach and WMVJ channel 29 in Melbourne. En 1954, un innovador empresario puertorriqueño, Ángel Ramos, tenía la misión de informar y entretener a la comunidad puertorriqueña. El transformó su visión en una brillante realidad al crear y lanzar un canal de televisión que pronto se convertiría en parte integral de la rica herencia de la Isla. Usando la tecnología más avanzada y lo último en cámaras y equipo de General Electric, Ramos lanzó WKAQ, canal 2, el cual pronto se convertiría en el cimiento del legado y la tradición de Telemundo. Telemundo creó innovadores programas de entretenimiento y deportes, además de reportar las noticias para la audiencia hispana. A la vez que el mundo cambiaba, Telemundo se convirtió en la ventana al mundo para los televidentes de Puerto Rico; quienes pudieron ser testigos de eventos como la Serie Mundial de 1968 y la llegada del primer astronauta estadounidense a la luna. Ahora, con 24 estaciones de alta y baja potencias en EE.UU., incluyendo Puerto Rico, y más de 684 sistemas de cables e inalámbricos tomando su señal, Telemundo ofrece la mejor calidad de programación original en el mercado de la televisión en español, además de tratar temas relevantes (inmigración, alfabetización, salud, educación, violencia doméstica, entre otros) que afectan las vidas diarias de la comunidad Hispana.
