She starts singing professionally at the age of 17 as backing vocals but soon turns to the frontlines and begins her solo carreer in several bands, reaching often over two-hundred live performances a year! From reggae to rock to 70s-80s cover bands and acid jazz groups, she becomes a great interpreter of big soul names like A.Franklin, T.Turner and many others. ( www.myspace.com/sharonmaylinnlive ) In the meantime she starts recording loads of tracks in the upcoming house genre and develops creativity by writing lyrics, including, from that time on, the producing aspect of music. With her powerful black voice and her very charismatic performances, she became most wanted free-style vocalist since a decennia and she has been working with a huge number of world known house djs, throughout the best clubs, first in Italy and then also Ibiza, England, Poland and Germany...Soon coming up performances in Russia and other European countries. A lot of Sharon's releases came out in the last years but one of the summer 2005 big hits was for sure a track together with well known italian producer Alex Gaudino, Lil' Love with the song LITTLE LOVE. Back in 2003 she wrote the song DESTINATION UNKNOWN : it became a hit thanks to vocals by Crystal Waters; recently remixed by Gaudino as DESTINATION CALABRIA, now in top sales charts UK and France!!! Recently two important tracks were released : WaWa feat. Sharon May Linn 'SUNSHINE', including a version of world known house producer and dj Jerry Ropero ( www.myspace.com/jerry_ropero )-(Blanco y Negro/Vendetta, Spain) Blu Lipstick (Sharon May Linn & Magilla) 'HEAD OVER HEELS', including an Alex Gaudino version (Riserec/TIMErecords, Italy)already on HED KANDI 2006 compilation. Lately the track "Burning Desire" written and sung by Sharon on the grooves of italian dj's, Domenico Baldoni and Lauro Predieri, has been released under the project named FRIENDS ELECTRIC by Wicked & Wild records... Already on traxsource and beatport as well. With the same team Sharon wrote and sang "There's no reason" which soon will be avaible too! Another collaboration with dj Marco Fratty ( www.myspace.com/marcofratty ) is presented as Lovematic 'I feel the love'(D-vision,Italy), which you can hear in Fratty's player. Now out on real hot label LEMANS RECORDINGS, the new smash hit 'I got fever', written and produced with dj Sergio D'Angelo ( www.myspace.com/sergiodangelo ), including a real "bomb" version and a dub one created by the super energic WaWa bros( www.wawa.tk )!!!! Another track by Sharon, Sergio and friend Cucky, is released on Equal records. It's called "Don't keep me hangin' on" and the very new characteristic is a jazzy soulful version which contains marvellous piano virtualisms. Sharon's collaboration with good friends Stefano Pain and Marcello Lepore (Smack It) made its way out on Stereo Seven rec the track "move Out" has been released... Another track came out recently, called Saudage project: "Love's gonna get you" with dj Cristian Marchi ( www.myspace.com/cristianmarchi In the meantime Sharon is preparing new stuff together with the Wawa bros, amazing polish producers...so keep coming back for last minute info!!! Yet more stuff will be released soon as well...so stay allert!!!! New Sergio D'Angelo & Sharon track is under construction, meanwhile soon released a collaboration with Unisonofx called "Scent of summer nights"on Equal rec, Italy. On the French scene she is about to come out in a Tecktonic smashing hit with dj and producer Dim Chris: a powerful punchy tune called "No Sucker". Here some rudimental information: -Nam Myoho Renge Kyo- The invocation of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo was established by Nichiren on April 28, 1253. Having studied widely among all the Buddhist sutras, he had concluded that the Lotus Sutra contains the ultimate truth of Buddhism: that everyone without exception has the potential to attain Buddhahood. The title of the Lotus Sutra in its Japanese translation is Myoho-renge-kyo. But to Nichiren, Myoho-renge-kyo was far more than the title of a Buddhist text, it was the expression, in words, of the Law of life which all Buddhist teachings in one way or another seek to clarify. What follows is a brief and unavoidably limited explanation of some of the key concepts expressed by this phrase. -Nam- The word nam derives from Sanskrit. A close translation of its meaning is "to devote oneself." Nichiren established the practice of chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo as a means to enable all people to put their lives in harmony or rhythm with the law of life, or Dharma. In the original Sanskrit, nam indicates the elements of action and attitude, and refers therefore to the correct action one needs to take and the attitude one needs to develop in order to attain Buddhahood in this lifetime. -Myoho- Myoho literally means the Mystic Law, and expresses the relationship between the life inherent in the universe and the many different ways this life expresses itself. Myo refers to the very essence of life, which is "invisible" and beyond intellectual understanding. This essence always expresses itself in a tangible form (ho) that can be apprehended by the senses. Phenomena (ho) are changeable, but pervading all such phenomena is a constant reality known as myo. -Renge- Renge means lotus flower. The lotus blooms and produces seeds at the same time, and thus represents the simultaneity of cause and effect. The circumstances and quality of our individual lives are determined by the causes and effects, both good and bad, that we accumulate (through our thoughts, words and actions) at each moment. This is called our "karma." The law of cause and effect explains that we each have personal responsibility for our own destiny. We create our destiny and we can change it. The most powerful cause we can make is to chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo; the effect of Buddhahood is simultaneously created in the depths of our life and will definitely manifest in time. The lotus flower grows and blooms in a muddy pond, and yet remains pristine and free from any defilement, symbolizing the emergence of Buddhahood from within the life of an ordinary person. -Kyo- Kyo literally means sutra, the voice or teaching of a Buddha. In this sense, it also means sound, rhythm or vibration. Also, the Chinese character for kyo originally meant the warp in a piece of woven cloth, symbolizing the continuity of life throughout past, present and future. In a broad sense, kyo conveys the concept that all things in the universe are a manifestation of the Mystic Law. Primary Practice Chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo--also known as "Daimoku"--is the primary practice of SGI members. Through this practice, one is able to reveal the state of Buddhahood in one's life, experienced as the natural development of joy, increased vitality, courage, wisdom and compassion.
