| I was born a 7th generation Texan, with bits of Scotch-Irish, English, Portugese, and non-documented Native American lineage, I am definitely a good example of what an "American" is. My interests are as eclectic as my genealogy. On both sides of our family, there were soldiers in both the American Revolution and/or the Civil War. (no, not a "daughter of the" as I am not particularly big on "joining")
First child of five,I was brought up by a Veteran of WW2 who inhaled reading material,loved history, was eclectic in his music taste, and loved to dance; coupled with a beautiful frustrated artist who was also trained in piano. Due to their influence art, music, and a love of history is shared with me by all of my siblings. My maternal grandmother influenced me with her exceptance and love of all people (which was unusual for the times she lived in) and her importance of history, both family and global, including bibical. All of my aunts on both sides of the family were beautiful women who were quite glamorous and had "style".
Marriage blessed me with two children, a son and a daughter, and from the time they were 6 and 4, were brought up by me as a struggleing single mother.
