Writing music and recording in various bands has helped along the way. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Switching picks for vocal chords was indeed a major step. Initially I toyed with the idea but not really enjoying singing made me search endlessly for a singer to work with. At times this was enjoyable but having a clear view of the music i wanted to do decided that i would take on singing duties myself. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Growing up with the Seattle grunge scene firmly implanted in my ears was a great time. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden, Screaming Trees etc all from one city! - not to mention Jimi Hendrix and Bob Dylan. I had the pleasure of visiting Seattle when I auditioned for a band in Vancouver 2 years ago. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Added to the pot was the agression and power of Metallica and the groove of Led Zeppelin - essential listening for any guitarist’s learning curve! More recently the exquisite melodies and rythyms of Muse and the punch and energy of Audioslave have been very influential. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The songwriting process was undertaken mainly on acoustic guitar despite the final songs being band orientated.
