| "AKA"NANA A graduate of Houston’s four-time Grammy award winning High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, Nadia has been singing since early childhood. At a young age, she was already receiving standing ovations from Texas Music teachers and competing in regional singing competitions. Nadia is now attending the acclaimed Westminster Choir College in New Jersey, where she is a Bachelor of Arts in Music major. She thrives off of performing and connecting with her audiences; whether it be singing with Westminster’s choirs at Carnegie Hall, or with the Jubilee Singers at various venues. Nadia is not limited to singing one genre of music. She loves Jazz, R&B, Neo-soul, Christian, Pop, Latin etc. she has been influenced by so many artists of these genres.On a personal tip….She hails from " da dirrty south," born and raised in Houston, Texas. She is of Mexican and Jewish heritage. With her rare mix you will ALWAYS find Nadia reppin that “mexijew” flava! She has been heavily influenced by her diverse roots, and comes from a very musical family. Her father who was known for his soothing voice sang Boleros and Romantic ballads for years in Mexico. Her mother introduced her to the sounds of Simon and Garfunkel, the Beatles, the Supremes and so many more of the greats who paved the way. At the age of 7 she was always impersonating Selena’s “washing machine” and belting out “Como La Flor” every chance she could. With her bubbly and vibrant personality she is constantly trying to make people laugh either with or at her… “Music is what keeps me going in this crazy world…I connect with every lyric in some way internally whether it be hip hop, soul, country, opera…every genre of music heals in some way universally…”As Gent Music's first lady, Nadia has just begun to develop her talent as a songwriter and recording artist. She has collaborated with various artists and producers in Texas and in New Jersey.
