There is estimated to be 90% seal pup mortality, already, due to the poor ice conditions, caused by global warming. Seal pups are not able to swim at such a young age and do not have the blubber to protect them from the frigid waters, thus, they have drown or froze to death. The surviving few, will be slaughtered with hakapiks by any Canadian fishermen who can get to them. This is fully supported by the Canadian government, all for the sake of profit. | Saving the seals from suffering a horrific death! The Canadian seafood industry and government is allowing the brutal killing of seals (baby seals)in order to increase sales of baby seal pelts all over Europe, basically, to profit for themselves (they give numerous excuses). We need to stand-up against these ruthless and greedy individuals and save these kind, intelligent, marine mammals. Knowing about this issue and trying to forget it because it is so sad and disgusting, DOES NOTHING! WE MUST COME TOGETHER AND TAKE ACTION!!!DO not abandon these animals and allow this twisted form of "hunting" to take place any longer. | |
